Time is ticking!

One year ago I was packing and getting ready to move to a new city, a new state, a new school and start a new part of my life.
  • Time is just ticking away. This summer has flown by, and so much has happened. I can't believe that in one month I will be back in NY going to school. This time 1 year ago I was getting ready to make the drive to NY and saying my last goodbyes. What a year it was in NY, but I am so thankful for the experience and for what God has in store for this next year! This is the rainbow we saw while driving to my apartment.
Two weeks left at my internship and then I will have completed my 480 hours for school!
  • What an awesome experience this has been! I can't believe I have been in Texas long enough to work 480 hours. Working this internship has given me many opportunities and allowed me to learn so much about public health.
Three siblings I have and am thankful for the time we have spent together this summer. Three months I will be in NY for school before I can come back home for Christmas.
  • I have really enjoyed spending so much time with my brothers and sisters. It has made for quite an exciting and enjoyable summer. This semester will be long and I won't be able to come home for a break , but only 3 months until Christmas break.

Four weeks left until I start school again for the semester.
  • School starts again in four weeks and I am pretty excited. I will be taking one of the three classes I have left to take before I can apply to med school. I will be doing another internship. Only 2 semesters of school left until I have my masters.
Life will continue to go on in numbers and I will continue to be thankful for all that I have. God has blessed me tremendously and I am forever thankful. I am down 11.4 lbs and only have 3.6 lbs to meet my goal for the challenge. If I had to rate this summer, I would say that it has been very successful and rewarding.

Challenge Update

First the challenge started off being 42 days long and now it has gone on an additional 12 weeks! What an amazing opportunity to meet some great people and learn some great habits about how to become healthy. As of this morning I am down a little over 11 lbs! Yippee!! I am now able to get rid of so many clothes! Now I can go shopping! And everyone knows how I love shopping!

Here are some pictures of all of the pants I have to get rid of soon!

As you can see that is 5 pairs of jeans that I have on in addition to the one pair that fit! The ones on the very bottom are the only pair of jeans that I now own that fit! How exciting is that!! Hopefully I can get down to the size I wanted for the end of the summer!

Also, here is a pic that I took of my sister from her track meet and pie eating contest from the other day! So hot, but so fun and so entertaining. Unfortunately she didn't win the pie eating contest. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

What would you attempt to do if you knew you couldn't fail?

I was asked this question the other day from one of my very best friends and it helped confirm my decision to finish taking my classes for medical school and apply. I do not want to look back on life and say "I should have done that, but I was scared!" Maybe she will even go with me, haha! I actually registered for one of the three additional classes I will need before I can apply. I know that I can do this, and now I am ready to give it 100%!

My weigh in this week was great! I am down 10.4 lbs since the weigh in started! Only 4.6 more until my 15 lb goal! This challenge has been so great for me. I have always had so much trouble losing weight, but with this challenge I have been succeeding! I am almost into a size 14 jeans!

Work is going good! I only have a couple of more weeks left, and then I will be home hanging out with the kids for a couple of weeks! Then it is back to school. I will not be able to come home at all this semester, but I will make the best of it. I am prepared now to deal with the cold and the different lifestyle. I have a great family that I babysit for and I know that they will help make my semester enjoyable.

I have been so busy that I haven't been able to get my camera out and use it, but today that will change! Next time I update I will have pictures!

So, what would you do if you couldn't fail? We have only one life to live.

The Fourth of July

I wake up early every morning to go to work everyday and you would think that today I would get to sleep in. Wrong, I had to wake up at 4:30 to take my sister to a qualifying track meet for the Junior Olympics and she made it! Yippee!

I have a new friend and we have been getting to know each other a lot better. We will see how it progresses. I am very apprehensive about jumping into anything.

I would like to do a giveaway! A book giveaway actually. I am pondering what book to giveaway, but it's in the works! I love reading and I would like to share that with other people. I just finished reading The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes so maybe it will be that. Does anyone have any book recommendations?

I have been slacking on my workouts and eating right. I am getting back in the game as of today. I want to be in a size 14 by the end of the summer and I am so close! I WILL EAT RIGHT AND WORKOUT!! Speak things into existence and they shall come true!!

I have blogged two days in a row now! I am trying to be better at blogging with my busy schedule.

I hope everyone has a happy holiday!

Updates on Me/Completely Random Information

  • Have you ever wondered why apple juice is brown or why a cookie taste better than a carrot? Me too, more particularly I wonder why apple juice is brown - hehe!
  • Well, I have been inspired by Karen's blog! I have decided to do a pay it forward. I am not sure who I am going to help, but if you know of someone who could use a pay it forward please let me know! It will be completely anonymous on my end, and I would like to bless a person or family in need. I would also like to step out of my comfort zone and do some new and fun things!
  • Who doesn't like attention? Me, wouldn't you say that makes me weird! Yes!
  • God has set a fire in us to fulfill some thing and I bet many of us are not listening, or we are letting others tell us what we can and cannot do in life! Only God can determine what you are not capable of! Recently I have gotten this fire! It is so interesting to see what God will show you when you take the time to pray and listen!
  • Hopefully time slows down so I do not have to go back to school soon OR time speeds up so it can be May and I will have graduated.
  • In general life is still going good. I am completely happy and cannot wait to move back permanently.
  • I plan on blogging more next week, this week I have just been engulfed in work!
  • Anyone want to take on a cool project with me? It's top secret, but let me know if you want to help! It will benefit others in the hospital!
