Taking back control

I recently, aka today, watched a segment titled "How Junk Food Affects the Body" (you can watch part 1 if you click the link) and went to the doctor yesterday. I have gained 8 pounds since I moved home and I just can't keep living unhealthy like I have been.

My relationship with food is not only unhealthy it's unrealistic. I can't continue to eat like this and expect to lose weight and be healthy. Soooo .. I am going to make a change and document my journey here. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I also plan on adding workouts to my schedule and just taking control of my life.

I may not be able to control some other things in my life, but I can control how often I work out and what I put in my mouth. Here's to tomorrow and starting new.

Hi Kristi!
Sometimes being at home and around family is so hard when you're trying to eat healthy or in my case feed my kids healthy. So many of the women in my family are unhappy with their weight but family gatherings always include cakes, pies, fried foods, etc. My cousin just started blogging about her adventure toward health and she wrote about eating at our last family birthday party.

I had no idea that she was having such an inner struggle while looking at the birthday cake. I hope you are able to find some good support there in TX.

Good for you!!! You can do it. Even when you don't feel like working out, make yourself get up and go to the gym. Once you are there, it's so much easier!

Good luck!
